INDIANAPOLIS- The Steelers will be in Jacksonville tonight to take on the (1-0) Jaguars. Ben Roethlisberger is still listed as questionable, which brings me ot my first question. Are the Steelers better off with a hurt Big Ben or a healthy Charlie Batch?
The next to games for the Steelers could determine the outcome of their season. In my opinion, if they lose both games then their season will not result in a trip to the playoffs. After the Jaguars tonight, the Steelers will play division rival Cincinnatti next week. The Bengals are already 2-0, and show no sign of slowing up. The Baltimore Ravens, also in the Steelers division, are 2-0 as well. That means that the Steelers cannot afford to fall behind early because of how tough the division is this year. IF they lost to both Jacksonville and Cincy, then they would already be 2 games back of the Bengals, and possibly 2 games back of the Ravens as well. The AFC is so tough this year that 2 games could be tough to come back from. Indianapolis, Jacksonville, New England, Cincinnatti, and Baltimore all look like playoff teams at this point, so there is just no margin for error. The wild card teams might have to win 11 or 12 games to make it in this year based on performances up to this point. I am not trying to be a downer and say the Steelers are done because they are 1-0. They just need to make sure that they take the next 2 weeks seriously enough to get wins.
