Steel City Butt Whooping

By Justin Albers

INDIANAPOLIS- The Steelers looked great on Sunday, and have many analysts second guessing their picks of a Steelerless playoffs. Pittsburgh crushed the Kansas City Chiefs 45-7, and the Steelers showed everything on offense and defense. Big Ben passed the ball only 18 times, completing 15 of them for over 250 yards and his first 2 touchdowns of the year. Willie Parker and Najah Davenport showed the Steelers smash mouth history with a big rushing afternoon. Parker went for 109 yards while Davenport added 74.

The Steelers "D" was no let down. Troy Polamalu led a visious attack, including 10 tackles and an interception that would have gone for a touchdown had he not been pulled down by his hair. That evil defense held Larry Johnson to an average of just 1.5 yards per carry, not bad against an MVP candidate.

I know that it is only one game, but it appears that the Steelers are back. Last week I made the bold prediction that the Steelers were going to repeat as super bowl champions, and for the first time all season the Steelers are giving me a reason for that pick. As long as Big Ben's confidence stays up, the Steelers should be in the playoffs. Especially since the Bengals and the Ravens lost on Sunday, exposing the AFC North as a weaker division than originaly thought. All I know is Sunday's win brought a lot of excitement back to a place that has been lacking positive thoughts all season long.
